Cuxhaven is assistance dog friendly.
Read the press release and the mayor’s message below.
“I am delighted to announce that assistance dogs are now welcome in all facilities in the city of Cuxhaven. This decision is an important step towards inclusion and accessibility, which will significantly improve the lives of many citizens in our city. Assistance dogs make an invaluable contribution to the independence and quality of life of their owners. They are not only loyal companions, but also indispensable helpers in the everyday lives of people with disabilities and chronic impairments. By opening access to our facilities to assistance dogs, we want to send out a clear signal: In Cuxhaven, the focus is on the well-being and participation of all people. I would like to thank everyone involved for supporting this important initiative and look forward to making our city even more liveable and accessible for everyone.”
The “Assistance Dogs Welcome” campaign was made possible by funding from the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the Aktion Mensch.
